Dear friend,
God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. As such, God always speak and uphold the truth. When serpent chose to oppose the Word of God in his temptation against our first parents, Adam and Eve, he revealed himself as a liar and the father of all lies. Tha fall of mankind into sin is essentially a collaboration of the devil and man in opposition against the Word of God. When God would save for Himself a people out of the fallen race, He declared that spiritual battle against all the forces of darkness. (Gen. 3:15)
Therefore God delights to be with His people whom He loves and who love His Name and Word. "Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. — If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him." (Mat. 18:20; Joh. 14:23)
This abiding together in love is evidenced by obedience to His Word and commanments. "If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love." (Joh. 15:10)
The result of such abiding is fruitfulness. (Joh. 15:1-5) "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance." (Gal. 5:22, 23) God and His people delight in such refreshing fruit in the garden of God. Let us take great delight in each others fruitfulness. Let us encourage one another to be fruitful, to be ever abiding with God and Christ.
