Comment on Evening March 08 of "Daily Light on Daily Path"

Dear friend,

To be able means to be in possession of that which is required to get a thing done. While ability alone is no guarantee that a thing would be done, nothing can be expected from those who simply does not have the ability to do it.

"I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able." (2Ti. 1:12) We naturally go to seek help from people whom we think are able to help us in one way or another. As believers we certainly find in our Lord Jesus Someone Who is able to do many things. In Eph. 3:20, He is able to "do .. above all that we ask or think." In 2Co. 9:8, He is able "to make all grace abound .." In Heb. 2:18, He is able " to succour them that are tempted." In Heb. 7:25, He is able "to save to the uttermost .." In Jude 24, He is able "to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless." Although not the sole and only important thing to know, lack of confidence in the Lord's ability does affect our communion with Him.

All Scriptures bear witness of Christ as the God of our Salvation. Together they lead us also to see that He is the Coming Judge at the end of all times, to bring all things to their closure. "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth." (Mat. 28:18)

The Lord asks you personally, "Believe ye that I am able to do this?" (Mat. 9:28) We do believe in His ability to do all things, including the changing of our "vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself." (Phi. 3:21)

Is there anything too hard for your Lord and Master?
