Comment on Evening March 05 of "Daily Light on Daily Path"

 

 

Dear friend,

 

We naturally shrink a little at the mention of "fight". Immediately, what comes to mind are "injuries", "blood", "swollen faces", "angry faces", "fierce faces", etc. Nothing good seem to be able to come out of fighting, but pain and miseries. If, really something good can come out of it, the question is still: "Is it worth all the fighting?" So, "negotiation" is the key term in all dealings, and "fighting" only on the final resort, and that always with peace and quietness as the goal.

 

But ".. we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." (Eph. 6:12) We do not like to fight, and, so, if we forget that this is not a physical battle, we might easily quit the Army of our Lord Jesus. On the other hand, if we keep that in mind, we may begin to realize that our battle in the spiritual realms would truly prevent all the body hardship finally. (Rev. 21:4) It is the battle of the Word of God.

 

Because it is a spiritual battle, we need to keep a spiritual mentality as we enter into the heat of the battle. This battle is ongoing even when we are least aware of it. So, the safest thing is to be spiritually minded at all times. Therefore, we are exhorted "Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil." (1Th. 5:16-22)

 

For the storied of this great battle of the ages, "The time would fail me to tell of [those] who through faith subdued kingdoms, ... out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens." (Heb. 11:32-34) Beloved, in eternity we will have plenty of time to dwell into the details of his battle. For now, let us begin by being spiritually conscious and engaged (sober-minded), cultivating the sense of His Presence as we live here below!
