Dear friend,
In the New Testament era, God has "consecrated for us" a new and living way. (Heb. 10:20) New not in the essence of things, but in the administration of things. The essence of salvation for all human beings has always being the same - through the Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, shed for His people. This essence of our salvation was administered in the Old Testament time with much sacrifices in the temple worship of God's people. But in the New Testament era, it is now administered through the Messianic Ministry of the Church - the works of Christ by His Word and Spirit in the hearts and lives of His people. "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour." (Tit. 3:5,6)
Therefore it is "Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory. — Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen." (Psa. 115:1; Rev. 1:5)
As those who belong to the fallen race of Adam, a rejection of the mercy of God in Jesus Christ, leaves us without hope in this world. A humble acceptance of God's sovereign mercy upon us is fundamental in the establishment of communion with God. We are to be grateful to Him at that very essential level of things. God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
Do you feel fine to wear your crown in His presence? Why?
