Dear friend,

"Behold, your God ... will come and save you." Isa 35:4

You who need delieverance, do not be discouraged. "Behold, your God ..."! Your God is the God of salvation (deliverance). He reveals Himself as such to us in His Word, the Holy Bible. What good is a God of deliverance, who would not deliver when the time comes for Him to do so? Such is not Jehovah, our God. "Behold, your God ... will come and save you."

Our God reveals Himself as the Champion of the "poor and needy". The "poor and needy" are people who know their true condition before God Almighty. There are many materially poor people who are unaware of their bankruptcy before God, of their miserable conditions before Him. There are also many rich people materially speaking, who are unaware of their miserable condition before God. They live in pride and look down upon others. Such people are not the poor and needy people of the world. The "poor and needy" are those who are of a broken and contrite heart. They know that they have failed the Lord GOD and are unworthy of the least of His blessings. In fact, they know what they deserved before the High and Lofty God, who inhabits eternity. These people find no resting plae in this dark and sinful world. They are turned away on every side, despised, reject and forsaken. They feel useless and unable to contribute significantly. They want to be useful and to live and die meaningfully with whatever they are given. They are not ashamed of their lot, but find others ashamed of and despised them.

To such God Almighty says, "I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. .. I will seek ... bring again ... bind up ... strengthen that which was sick. — Wherefore lift up ... make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out .. but let it rather be healed. "

Our God would use the weak things of this world to confound the high and mighty. Are you feeling weak? Do you know where to go to find acceptance and usefulness?
