Dear friend,
Every child of God in Heaven is a sinner saved by the Sovereign Grace of God. He or she is a clear demonstration of the righteousness of God in Christ. We "are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus". (Eph. 2:10) He works on us and His works on us are done in Christ. They are all together righteous according to His own judgment.
God is first of all righteous when He condemns us as wretched sinners according to His Holy Law - "the soul that sinneth it shall die." (Eze. 18:4) God is not unrighteous to have created the human specie gregarious with the need of a federal head. As such, it is His righteousness that ".. by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous." (Rom. 5:19) The first man, Adam, failed and the human race was plunged into the estate of sin and miseries - all have sinned in Adam. The second man, Jesus Christ, who "his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree," (1Pe. 2:24) and fulfilled all righteousness for us, His people, had succeeded to make "many ... righteous." The second man is "God with us" (Immanuel) acting to save us. Our Salvation is indeed God's righteous acts demonstrated from faith to faith. (Rom. 1:7)
Thus "the Lord [is become] our Righteousness" (Jer. 23:6) and we "made the righteousness of God in him." (2Co. 5:21)
What should men around us see in us to be convinced that we are "the righteousness of God" in Christ? (Php. 1:27, 28)
